The General Data Protection Act

From 25th of May 2018 onward, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, in Dutch: Avg) applies. This privacy legislation replaces the Personal Data Protection Act. This new law also applies to personal data collected and used by the Openbare WerkPlaats (via the website, e-mail or otherwise). This law indicates the rights of someone whose data is used and the duties of the authorities or companies that use data.

What is personal information?

Personal data is defined as data with which one can be traced to an identified or identifiable natural person. This means that the name of a person to whom the data relates is known, or that person can be identified. Examples of personal data are a name of a person or a home address or personal email address.

How does the Openbare WerkPlaats treat your personal data?

Your data is processed in a careful manner in accordance with the GDPR. No different than we did before, only now we’ve defined it more clearly. We only use personal data internally to register course participants or users of the WerkPlaats and arrange payments. For this we have to be able to communicate with these people and people and/or organizations that have previously had contact with the Openbare WerkPlaats. So we only communicate matters concerning the Openbare Werkplaats and do not share any data with third parties for their communication or analysis needs.

More information

Our procedure is simple: Your personal data is stored on our secure computer system and physically on paper in folders. A backup is regularly made on a hard disk here in the office. You can come and see for yourself where and how we store your data. Other parties that we use to communicate with you (eg. invoicing and email programs) have contractually agreed with us to comply with the AGV. Lists with names & email addresses are deleted after using these services.

If you object to the processing of your personal data, you want to inspect, change or delete the data, you can let us know: info@openbarewerkplaats.nl. You can always unsubscribe from our newsletters at the bottom of the newsletter. Of course you can also call or drop by.
