How to get here
Several busses and trams stop within a few minutes walking distance of De Openbare Werkplaats. You can take bus 22 (busstop: Veelaan) or trams 3, 7 or 14 (last stop before the Flevopark). Use the public transport travel planner website to plan your trip. Once you've reached the Cruquiusweg, you'll find us behind the second gate on the right.
Take the 'Zeeburg' exit from the ring road (A10). Turn left onto the 'IJburglaan' and follow the signs 'Industriegebied Cruquius'. Turn left at the traffic lights onto the 'Zuiderzeeweg' (driving past the P&R). Follow the road over the bridge and at the traffic lights, turn right onto the 'Zeeburgerdijk'. After the bend in the road, turn right onto the 'van Lohuizenlaan'. Turn right again (follow the main road) onto the 'Cruquiusweg'. After 50m, turn directly right through the second gate. To open the barrier, please push the button on the far left. You can then drive over the parking lot and onto our premises (free parking). To leave without paying, you can grab a coin that will open the barrier (suppliers can call a special phone number).
From March 2021 onwards, we are situated in the restricted environmental zone of Amsterdam. This means you may not be able to reach us with an older car, without be registered and fined, but getting an exemption is sometimes possible. Please check beforehand (in Dutch): license plate check.
Our dock is on the canal called the 'Nieuwe Vaart', which connects the 'Oosterdok' (maritime museum) with the 'Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal' (through the sash locks called the 'Zeeburgerschutsluis'). You can dock with us if your boat is no longer then 12 meters. Besides the Amsterdam Harbour dues (paid through a sticker you have to buy when entering Amsterdam), we charge 1,- per meter per day when you're not working on your boat.
